Case study / Help Start
A clear cause. An easy way to help.
Geeklab designed and built the website for Help Start Education Foundation, a US non-profit that gives recycled laptops to underserved students, and created its social media strategy and content calendar.

Website live
The Help Start website, with routes to donate, apply and get involved, and a handover-day banner shown as a design visualisation.
The brief
What the work needed to do.
Help Start Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides recycled laptops to underserved students, many of them enrolled with BYU-Pathway Worldwide and other education programmes. The website needed to explain the mission and turn interest into donations, applications and volunteers.
The challenge
What the experience had to solve.
Three audiences arrive with different needs: donors who want to see where their support goes, students applying for a laptop and volunteers who interview candidates. Each needed a clear route, without losing the student at the centre of the story.
Brand in context

The work
The thinking behind the delivery.
01
A journey anyone can follow
The website shows how one laptop moves from donation to delivery to a student’s studies, so the model is easy to understand at a glance.
02
A clear route for each audience
Donations, laptop applications, candidate-interviewer sign-ups and newsletter subscriptions each have their own route through the site.
03
A social system that keeps the story going
A social media playbook and a monthly content calendar set out content pillars, a weekly rhythm and reusable templates for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, built around dignity-first storytelling.
Evidence and outcome
What the work put in place.
The live website gives Help Start a clear home for its mission, its how-it-works journey and its routes to donate or apply. A repeatable social media system gives the team a plan it can publish from every week.
