Case study / ISTQB

Clear routes through certification.

Information architecture, user experience and responsive platform design for a worldwide software-testing qualification body.

Information architecture / UX / Website development

Delivered project

The certification platform, from its resource structure to detailed qualification information.

The brief

What the work needed to do.

Bring certification levels, specialist streams, syllabi, exam providers and member boards into a coherent digital resource. The platform needed to serve people exploring qualifications for the first time as well as experienced visitors looking for a specific document or provider.

The challenge

What the experience had to solve.

A large specialist resource serves several audiences with different levels of knowledge. The experience needed to support discovery, direct search and regional pathways within one consistent structure.

The work

The thinking behind the delivery.

01

A structure for a worldwide resource

Certification levels, specialist streams, syllabi, exam providers and member boards needed to belong to one understandable system. The information architecture connects those resources without treating every visitor as a first-time learner.

02

Journeys for different starting points

Navigation, search and filters support visitors who are exploring qualifications and those looking for a particular document or provider. Regional pathways sit within the wider certification structure.

03

Consistency across the experience

Responsive layouts carry the institutional identity into the pages and tools people use. Measurement considers document discovery, downloads, search terms and onward journeys to member boards.
